Localised version of Coreblog (April 2005 version)
See the running demos:
Our current modified Coreblog version has the following features:
- Editing and managing interfaces taken out of ZMI
- Date is editable. You can change date & time of posting, whenever you want.
- Image addition and management: pictures get embedded into posts. This feature is based on the work of Jeff Hicks, Brady Davis and friends at Blogplot
- Comment and trackback control interfaces integrated into the general entry management view
- A micro-CMS so the user can manage fixed content, upload files and images.
- Template changes only through the CSS, but the CSS can be directly accessed and edited by the user.
- All that is localised, with versions ready for English, Spanish and Basque, and the possibility to easily deploy other languages.
For instance, a given Coreblog post has a numeral ID, like, for instance, yourblog.org/12 . Well, this modified Coreblog version has an edit interface, so the user can edit that with yourblog.org/12/edit and there no ZMI will appear, but instead, an interface like this one
Installation
First of all, you have to install a modified product.
Download the tgz file: COREBlog11-CodeSyntax.tgz and the instructions (PDF file)
The following products have to be installed as well see the readme file for more details:
- Localizer , we use 1.0.1, but should work with older and newer versions.
- ImageMagick 5.5.7.11 ( alternate link ) or PIL ( Python Image Library) for images in entries
- Photo 1.2.3 http://www.zope.org/Members/rbickers/Photo/
After installing the product and the associate products (PIL, Localizer...), install and import the zexp: csblog-en.zexp . There are also .zexp files for Basque and Spanish versions: csblog-eu.zexp | csblog-es.zexp
It is a Coreblog already modified what you import there. It should look like this demo blog and would be managed with these instructions (PDF file)
If you want to apply the modification to a current Coreblog, go to the Contents tab of that one, delete all methods and else there, and take all methods and else from contents tab of mt3-en and paste them at the old coreblog of yours.
Our previous Coreblog development followed a Movabe-Type-like template, based on the MT 2.6x template. That version is documented and available here
Coreblog communities
The following community of blogs, Eibar.org was developed using the localised CSS version of ours. Check the variety of blogs:
